Hi again! I really enjoyed reading more of the continuing story. The descriptions of the action and settings are really nicely done. The illustrations are great, too. I hope more people will take a look!

If the digital copies are going to be sold, then where will the proceeds go?

I don’t have any contact info for Jeff. Perhaps Ken does and will let you know (though the last list I had came from Ken). If you do find out his contact info, please let me know as well. Perhaps Ken or others here will have some insight on your questions if you post them here.

I’m sure we’ll have a sample issue for people to see or selections for people to see, something like that. As I said, not all the details have been worked out yet, so I really cannot comment much more. But we’re talking about archival quality scans of every single Sierra magazine assembled into a complete set that has taken literally THOUSANDS of hours of painstaking work and cost to create. So yes, when the work is done it will be available for purchase. Plus it will be very nice. It will not be just a CD in a cracked case that someone scribbled “InterAction Magazines” on.

Purchase? Will it not be available for browsing online?

I don’t have any betas, though I’m going to see if any of my contacts have one. But I’ll check out those screenshots comparing the demo and the game and put them up, and I do have some development sketches – and I’ll post those as well to compare the applicable screens. With the archival projects that we have in progress here, eventually a ton of Willy Beamish production material will be available to be seen.

Wow, really? Just screenshots and things, or do you actually have some playable betas? Whatever you have, please send it all to me, because I’m a big Willy fan and would love to see it all! I’ve even started a Willy Beamish Fan Club:
    http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/willybeamishfanclub/
Doesn’t have any members yet, though, but any Beamish fans are welcome!

That’s really interesting! I’ll have to play the Willy Beamish demo again. I never noticed that. I don’t think it’s possible to simply do a change around with files. Presumably, the demo resource files only contain the areas of the game used in the demo. Since Willy Beamish is not written in SCI, it’s not possible to view the resources. Unless perhaps one of the experts around here can tell us these types of things? I have some Willy Beamish development material and I’ll compare the screens with that as well and I’ll let you know what I find.

The magazines will be available as a complete set for purchase in digital format. The final details are still being worked out. I will probably update that page again soon as progress is continuing to be made. The packaging design is also being worked on at this time. It should be really awesome when it’s finished!

This is very interesting, expecially for those like me that have always been interested in Sierra’s magazines.
What is the final purpouse of the project? Make all the numbers available for downloading? Sell them as a complete collection?

This is a speed issue. Each time it explodes, you will be a little closer. If you keep trying over and over, eventually you will get there.

Man I loved that comic book. I’ve read it a million times! The cool and also sad thing is that in one of the letters they talk about a possible sequel. Too bad Dynamix never made the sequel…

I don’t know if you tried this already but I was having the same problem with my version of Alien Legacy. So I downloaded DoSBox’s latest version and the game works perfectly under 800X600 and 16 bit haven’t trie dit yet under higher settings. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I lucked out. 🙂 I replayed KQ2+ afterwards to compare and they have really made some improvements (and I thought that game was good!) The background art in Al Emmo is especially good, much more detailed than in KQ2.

Phew! I’ll bet everyone thought I had given up on my Choose Your Own Adventure take on the Perils of Rosella! Well despite some motivational blues, I’ve updated once again with several new pages and a new illustration. The whole story seems to be taking a more grim turn. I hope it’s all still to your liking 🙂

I haven’t looked at it yet, since I’m at work, but I’m guessing that Silver Sphinx is running a day early.

Pardon me, I don’t get the point of this thread. To say that the game is unpolished would be an understatement. And most of those development groups I’ve never even heard about. And this Hero of Infamous Kingdoms doesn’t look anywhere near as good as Hero6 (which didn’t use AGS if I remember correctly).

I guess the following quote from Hero6.com explains it:

“Not only have we merged our project teams, we have also merged our projects and have created a game for you to enjoy! YES, we’ve already created an entire game, ready for download!”

And from the FAQ page on Silver Sphinx Studio’s website:

Q: Why did you make Hero of the Infamous Kingdoms?
A: Because we felt it was time to form together all of the fellow fan projects out there to merge their projects into one project.
Q: Does this mean all the other individual projects won’t finish?
A: They have been all finished, just into one game.
Q: So is this a QFG fan game?
    A: Yes.

Another example of fan games hurting the source material?

It also helps if you give the correct URL.

    You typed: http://www.siversphinxstudios.com

    It should be: http://www.silversphinxstudios.com

While going through my Sierra manuals, I came across this. Since things have been a little dead here, I thought I would scan it into a PDF and post it here. Enjoy.
