Thank you!  For both comments there!  That’s been driving me insane…

Can’t wait to hear the tracks whenever you get them finished up!

Collector previously sent me his collection. This looks like a great collection as well. If you can set me up with the files, I’ll finally get a section set up here on this website where they can all be kept and everyone can download them.

I’ve found possible mutiple demos for some games (i.e. ecoquest II), they may actually be functionally the same but the date stamps and included files are different.

I’m also gathering together all the ‘movie’ demos where I find them, and will also probably make ‘movie’ demos out of the non-playable demos from the above list.

I’m hoping to put them up on my site on a scheduled rotation to prevent my bandwidth from being killed.

Sad to hear it, I’ve been in contact with him a couple of times, mainly through the http://www.vintage-sierra.com/ forums.

Has he considered passing on some of his work to others to manage/host?
I’m noticing more and more of the big ‘information’ sites dropping away, and with them the information and history they contain.

Man, I feel like I just witnessed a book burning seeing his site go.

    Hey man,

Being a close personal friend of Frans himself (ex co-admin of the SQN forums), I can say he’s intentionally shutdown the site. He intended to regardless; too much of a drain on his time and wallet. The forum hacking just pushed him over the edge. He;s very cynical and bitter about the community at large (as am I, just more so).

I think everyone agrees that it’s a bad decision on his part, and I’ll try talking to him again about it. But I think it’ll stay.
    🙁

It is (from LSL3).. the KQ3 thing is NOT a timer bug, it’s just because your in-game ‘speed’ settings are too low.

Has he shut down his site totally?  I knew that the forums were closed, but I thought the site would stay up.

The problems you describe with KQ3 sound like a timer issue. Because
the game is running on a much, much faster processor than for which it
was designed, timed events can take much longer to occur than usual.
For example, there’s a section where you have to work out on various
machines in a gym. You’re only meant to do 10-20 repititions on each
machine. On a modern processor, it can require hundreds.

Use an application like Turbo, MoSlo or DOSBox to fix this.

Hmmm… the screenshots look like the regular PC versions. I think that someone should notify Moby Games about these!

Any chance you’ll uplaod the KQ3 image?

By the way, ATMachine usually answers private messages, you can try that.

I have 2 copies of KQ3 for the coco, and a disk image of the game (will scan a box sometime soon)

I’m still looking for a copy of Larry 1 for the coco.

And thanks for the info on ATM, I’ve sent an email but no answer, will try posting on the forum.

    Thanks.
    Steve.

The guy who runs the Comcast page can be found at the adventuregamers.com forums, look for ATMachine.

Now, about those Color Computer versions – I never seen them mentioned anywhere… is it possible to download disk images of them to load under an emulator? Or are there at least screenshots?

I’m currently working on a KQ7 complete MIDI soundtrack. It’ll take a while, but I’m getting there.

Dr. Mort Cadaver’s theme is ‘Tchaikovsky 6th Symphony 3rd Mvt (Pathetique)’.

To Ken or Roberta Williams i liked the King’s Quest games 1-7
But the only problem i didn’t like in the KQ 3 was on the pirate ship after getting possessions back, listening to the mice and getting the shovel. You have to just wait about 20 to 30 minutes before the pirates say land hold. Why not after doing all those things then suddenly say land hold. And King’s Quest 8 i never played because i heard it was gory and i can’t stand the sight of blood.
Just wondering if it’s possible for a patch to be made to edit or black out gory details.

    Thanks
    John

Just lost my last entry to an asp error.

I’m hoping I can track down either orginals or copies of these catalogs.  Digital copies would be fine if they are high quality.

I’m making a fan site, and the majority of the content will be Sierra demo movies compressed as macromedia flash movies for online viewing.

I’ve looked around and the links are either dead or, the quality of the transfer is poor, so far I haven’t seen these on Ebay, and I’d really like to make these available on my site (underway at http://www.sierra-collector.com)

    Thanks.

Thanks, I’ve tried ervind@comcast.net when I came accross the site, it didn’t bounce but no response yet, so I don’t know if they check that account.

Thanks to EBay I now have physical copies of:
    King’s Quest 5 EGA
    Space Quest 1 remake EGA
    Space Quest 4 EGA
    Leisure Suit Larry 5 EGA
Leisure Suit Larry 1 remake EGA (in transit, tested disks)
Castle of Dr. Brain EGA (in transit, tested disks)

Thanks to ashdoublev, I got the files I was missing for Larry 5, and Space Quest 1 (bad disks)
So I have (or soon will, cross fingers for those in transit) binary copies of all the above, plus

Rise of the Dragon EGA (thanks)
    Heart of China EGA (thanks)
Jones in the Fast Lane (thanks)

    Still missing
    Conquest of the Longbow
    EcoQuest 1
    Mixed-up Fairy Tales
Hoyle’s Book of Games Vol. 3.

Collector, I’m really interested in getting Conquest of the Long Bow.

If you have any of these, please send a message to realitystorm@sympatico.ca attn: Sierra Games (so I can see it in a sea of spam)

‘I wish they had contact info on their page, they seem to have lots of variations of the games.’

    Steve,

You may want to try sending an e-mail to ervind@comcast.net.  This site is hosted on the web space that Comcast provides to its members and, in this case, ‘ervind’ is the member name.
