By the way Tina, you can post in the same thread each time, you don’t need to make a new one – which incidentally, has been moved to the “Games Chat” -> “Hints / Copy Protection” message board.

I have great luck at Portland/Seattle re-run shops finding both Seirra games and manuals, but, the copy-right protection manuals are always missing. Got tons of registration cards though.

(re: Alternate Sins Soundtrack?) Robert Holmes would be flattered to hear that. As he said in the interview that Ugarte and I did, he said that he enjoyed doing all three GK games soundtracks. The big problem is getting an idea like this approved by VU.

Yes, there are plenty of other strong designers like Miyamoto. There’s Hideo Kojima who does the Metal Gear games (which I despise and would love to digress on…). There’s guys at Sega, Square, etc. I would imagine that most games are still produced with one “designer”, but that some of the designers are more high-profile than others.

You can find the Nightmare theme same way than in the making of video in the Gabriel Knight cd version of the game. 🙂

I wish they would do a remake with all the GK music in cd quality and played by an orchestra…. GK had a really good soundtrack…

(re: Where is everyone now?) Very good points, but I can think of a game company that features a strong designer – Nintendo. Shigeru Miyamoto designed or produced just about all of their major hit games.

But other than that, I cant think of any designers either – there are some that claim to be professional designers, but seem to be one-hit wonders in denial 🙂

(re: Email Notifications Bug) I’ve spent most of the last 12 hours staring at my computer screen. I applied Microsoft’s latest service pack for SQL, and upgraded to Server Pack 2 of XP — and, nothing has been stable since. Argh!!!

(re: need to know something else about kq7) I don’t think your game’s broken – just keep trying! Sounds like you’re near the very end of the game, where you’d expect the hard puzzles! ;o)

(re: help for kings quest 7 end of chapter 5) Hi, Tina!

First, make sure the wand is set to F for false then you zap the false king. It may take a while to finally click on the right one. Keep trying, you’ll get it! 🙂

Hint: The false Troll King has green eyes, and the real Troll King has purple eyes.

    (re: Roberta Williams Anthology)

Wow, it is hard to believe that I have both collections and that they are in demand.  Kings Quest Collection was a Christmas gift from my husband and I played each episode, then waited until KQ5 came out, then every other year the next episode.  Then, when Anthology came out, it became a part of my collection of adventure games also.  There never has been nor never will be another game writer like Roberta.  They only problem I have with the older games is that unless you play them straight through (at least on my high speed computer) you cannot play them at all. Thanks again for all your wonderful work.

(re: QFG1/Hero’s Quest Info) When you say dinosaurs, you do mean Saurus Rex, correct?

In Hero’s Quest they were red, with a bit of blue. In close combat looks like they have one red eye, one green eye.

In QFG1 on the other hand they are just brown/tan coloured.

(re: QFG1/Hero’s Quest Info) I’ve been all through it, even way back when with the original release of Hero’s Quest. There is no Dragon to fight in the game. Of course, there is the one in the Guild Hall – but yes, it is dead 🙂

You do not encounter a live one in the game.

I’ve been following this, looks pretty good. Hopefully they get it done soon, but since it’s mainly a volunteer project, really can’t complain.

I had the opportunity to interview the Peasant’s Quest team for Adventure Gamers. It was fun to hear their Sierra memories and their reasons for making an AGI game.

You do fight the Saurus on the front of the Hero’s Quest box cover. However, I’ve never encountered the dragon on the front of the Quest for Glory VGA (is that the one you’re referring to?) box cover with the stained glass window motif.

hmm well that’s odd. Cause even the handbook says there is a dragon. Also the front cover shows yo fighting a dragon but strange never the less.
