Tawmis,
ParticipantTechnically, this wasn’t Sierra. The license for King’s Quest was “licensed out” to the folks of The Odd Gentlemen.
These are the people to pester:
http://blog.theoddgentlemen.com/Tawmis,
ParticipantThis is a really old message, but just in case you ever come back to it…
I’d visit Collector’s Sierra page:
http://www.sierrahelp.com/forumsTawmis,
ParticipantSome people gather at Collector’s site for Sierra discussions (and more lively)…
Tawmis,
ParticipantYou can get the installer packaged with DOSBOX by going to Collector’s page:
http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSierraInstallers.html
Tawmis,
ParticipantHey! I don’t know if Collector can get that working for you, but try going to http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums – and post it on there. He may or may not be able to assist.
Tawmis,
ParticipantLike you, KQ4 was my favorite. There isn’t much activity here (sadly), but we have a pretty thriving forum over on Sierra Help (mentioned in my previous post in this thread). I am pretty sure others would love to see this – and also hear about your Sierra playing experience(s)!
Tawmis,
ParticipantIf you’re interesting in getting rid of it – please do not just “throw it out.” I’d post it on the Sierra Help forums, found at:
http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums
We have a trading section in our forum. Someone may be all too willing to take that off your hands.
Tawmis,
ParticipantI don’t know for sure; but someone on the SierraHelp forums may know…
Tawmis,
ParticipantThe entire site has been revamped again (a year or so ago!) – and has a very nice, easy to move around, layout. So feel free to come by and check it out!
Tawmis,
ParticipantJust be aware, when you reach games like KQ5, you will hit “timer bugs” where faster processors cause the game to crash.
You can read more about it on our King’s Quest forums on SHP:

Tawmis,
ParticipantHey Ben! Glad to hear you’re playing these with your kids and sharing the magic!
If you need help running these games on modern machines, please visit us at http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums
Collector has made some incredible patches that allow these games to run through DOSBOX and play pretty much flawlessly on modern day computers.
Tawmis,
ParticipantI’d say it sounds like ZELIARD.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZeliardTawmis,
ParticipantYour best bet is to post over on:
Tawmis,
ParticipantHey! Welcome. For getting your classic Sierra games running on modern machines, check out: http://www.sierrahelp.com – the forums have a ton of great help, the site has all kinds of great installers.
Get GRAY MATTER now! You want to, trust me!
And if you’re a big Jane Jensen fan check – http://pinkertonroad.com/
Tawmis,
ParticipantYou may wish to ask on the SHP page (active forum)…
http://sierrahelp.com/forums/Tawmis,
ParticipantI am not sure myself… But the folks at SHP (active forum) would probably know…
Tawmis,
ParticipantTry Collector’s installers –
http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSierraInstallers.html#KAnd if you have issues, you’re better off posting here:
http://sierrahelp.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=6&sid=39b3ce7c10174f7ee59e746c7b7306b0Tawmis,
ParticipantSure enough there IS Dr. Brain installers – I just overlooked them and Collector corrected me!
http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/NewSierraInstallers.html#D
Tawmis,
ParticipantDr. Brain –
http://sierrahelp.com/Games/DrBrain/DrBrainSeriesHelp.htmlAnd if you need to, post here about the issues you’re having (trust me, you will get more game support there, then you will here)…
http://sierrahelp.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=11
And if Collector doesn’t have a Dr. Brain installer (which he doesn’t seem to), if you post, he may make one.
Tawmis,
ParticipantPlease go to:
or
http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums
Collector can help you with the game. Any Sierra game, for that matter, on modern machines. (Pass the word around!)
Tawmis,
ParticipantYou REALLY should post this on:
http://www.sierrahelp.com/forumsLots of QFG fans there who would appreciate this!
Tawmis,
ParticipantI doubt most would be willing to part with their art… but the most active Sierra community I know of is:
http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums
You can check there, to see if those that might own some art might at least be willing to send SCANS of them.
April 1, 2012 at 5:29 pm in reply to: Can anyone identify the background music from the Sierra Promo, Manhunter Segment? #27329Tawmis,
ParticipantChances are, it may have been uniquely made for the promo.
As for contacting Sierra folks (the company is pretty much “defunt” – or the Sierra that would know and/or care about Manhunter, or any of the classics). Your best bet would be to head to the Sierra Help Pages (www.sierrahelp.com/forums) and ask on there… Plenty of knowledgeable people there that may be able to assist.
Tawmis,
ParticipantYour best bet is going to be online (like ebay or something) – or going to sierrahelp.com/forums and post on there (there’s a trading section on the forum).
Tawmis,
ParticipantYour best bet is to check at:
