http://www.sierra-collector.com/contents.cfmOk, well, it’s mine actually, I’ve been meaning to put one together for years and have finally got a start on it.
I’ve still got some stacks of info to go through, and put on it, and I plan to expand the game pages to include more than just the release history, so more is coming.
Anyway, you’re all welcome to take a look.

ParticipantI’ve added a ‘what’s new page’ for people more easily see what I’m up to.
http://www.sierra-collector.com/contents/whatsnew.cfmRecent major additions are streaming video versions of many of Sierra’s non-playable demos, created using DosBox 0.65’s recording feature.

ParticipantYour site is really looking nice! Where are you getting all these great videos?
-

ParticipantSteve, your site is turning out pretty good. Just so you know, two of those catalog images don’t seem to be loading.

ParticipantBrandon, I need to finish scanning the missing catalogs, Julie, I’m getting the videos off of Sierra CDs mostly, and also using DosBox to create videos from Sierra’s non-playable demos (the XMas cards are coming soon)
I will be posting the demos I have, hopefully this weekend.

Participantwow, great site so far. i cant wait to see the rest. i noticed something strange to me though. when looking at the hero quest video and the 1991 catalog, the fighting scenes shown are quite different from the versions i own. it looks like you actually control the characters movement and shield usage. does anyone know if that was the way it was originally designed, or is there a way to switch to that style of combat in all the versions. it just seems weird because the catalog shows pics of qg2, so why would they still be showing beta pics of qg1? if it was originally meant to play that way, i wonder why they changed it.

ParticipantI’ve put up the remaining catalogs I own:

ParticipantAlso, this will probably be it for a couple of weeks, I’m away on business most of next week, and have to spend the rest of this week preparing my presentations.

ParticipantOne thing I noticed in the 1991 catalog, King’s Quest 4 marked as available for the Macintosh, was this actually ever released?
http://www.sierra-collector.com/games/catalogs/9/4.cfmIt was listed as ‘coming soon…’ for most of the 10th anniversary catalogs

http://www.sierra-collector.com/games/catalogs/8/2.cfmSpace Quest III was, but it looks like Police Quest II, and Larry II were not.

ParticipantAwesome site. I still have those catalogs and I’ve been trying to take care of them. I was planning on one day scanning them myself. I used to read the catalogs all the time and look at all the games I wish I had. It was the InterAction magazine before there was one.
I don’t think KQ4 was released for Mac for some odd reason. In fact, I don’t think any SCI games were released for Mac, although there was an AGI version of KQ4 for the IIgs.

Unknown,Unknown
Participantdo you mean Text-based SCI? (1988-1990)?
I’m sure KQ5 and the first generation Icon based SCI were released for Mac
-
Unknown,Unknown
ParticipantYes, sorry, I meant text-based SCI.

ParticipantFor those not checking the what’s new of my site, I’ve updated the catalog page http://www.sierra-collector.com/games/catalogs.cfm to include several more Sierra Catalog scans.

ParticipantIs there anyway to download the movies so I can copy them to my iPod video?
-
Unknown,Unknown
ParticipantSorry, all the videos are only available in streaming flash format to view online, this is to reduce bandwidth for my site.
I’ve found in the past if I post movies for download a lot of people will download all the movies in one shot, and my server will get killed with the load.
