ParticipantHowdy,
Okay I have just posted the first Interaction PDF that we have archived. Been working with Robert at Kinko’s to make this happen – this is the prototype. Any comments, questions and feedback should be given now before we move forward. Read the message at the link below, and also find the link to download the PDF as well.Quick note about the site you are linking to. I am hosting a message board at my own domainname for now, that is designed to serve as a focused meeting place where those interested can help/contribute to the archiving project. Please read the post below to get an idea of what the site is, (and is not) for now, and know that I am open to any suggestions – just wanted to get something in the works.
There are some bugs on the website, but we will just work through them as they arise. Shouldn’t cramp anything though. Have fun.

Cool!
What do you think the cost per page, and size per page, could be at this qualiity?
I’m on a slow modem, so I can’t download it (I did try and could only see the first page before I lost patience)

Participant(re: 1st Interacion PDF Prototype! Kinko’s scanning) Cool work! It’s a good size vs quality ratio.
Out of interest, how long did this take you? -

I think the result is overall very satisfying. Good quality and usability for that file size. However, I think the quality/size ratio should be carefully calculated, so that no space is “wasted” on a possible CD. Personally, I would have wanted just a tad more quality in the final version. For instance, look at that portrait of Roberta in the interview section. I think it is too bad for a decent archival effort.

Participant(re: 1st Interaction PDF Prototype! Kinko’s scanning) Looks good – the quality is a bit lower than I would like for the PDF version of the document, as someone else already mentioned (I assume you are saving 300 DPI jpgs or pngs or something). Furthermore, I can’t help but wish for those special pages, such as the KQ4 centerfold, that those would be available as 300 dpi jpg and put together already, so that you can see the whole spread joined.
Still, it’s really cool just to see the whole newsletter, one that I don’t have, in its entirety.
And I finally printed it, and it looks great – and I made a few further comments / questions in the “new interaction magazine discussion” thread.
