(re: re: Ken Williams Q&A) Why isn’t Reberta working for Sierra to creat a Kings Quest 9?

If the new LSL sells good, that day may come. But the fan made KQ9 is looking quite sweet, so take a look!

The true story is that Roberta decided to take some time off after completing KQ: MoE. Then Sierra’s business strategy changed and they saw no future in adventure games. The rights to King’s Quest is owned by Sierra and not Roberta, so it’s their call to make another sequel, not hers. They don’t even have to make it with Roberta. As for her, I think she would be willing to work with them on a sequel if asked and under the right conditions. However, at this time there is nothing indicating that this would be likely to happen. Sierra will continue the KQ seris under one condition: They think it will give them financial profit. And right now, their estimate is that adventure games don’t sell well enough.

(re: re: re: Ken Williams Q&A) Because that’d make sense… and Lord forbid Sierra do that, nowadays… say like, oh, have AL LOWE on the new LSL… but no…
Ken, I understand why ye sold Sierra when ya did but man…

(To Ken and Roberta. It would mean a lot to me if you reply :)) Hello, Ken!
I was practically raised on Sierra games, and I really loved them. They were the reason why I bought a PC in the first place. It’s hard to tell quite how much Sierra has meant to me. I know this sounds kind of geeky, but I have to get it out 🙂
I used to fantasy about going to the Sierra HQ in Oakhurst and kept bugging my parents to go there on vacation, but since I live in Norway, it would be quite expensive so we never went to America. I’ve always wanted to meet Ken and Robera in person (and Al Lowe, the two guys from Andromeda etc.) and I still think about it from time to time. So if you read this, Ken, you have to know that you and your wife have meant very much to me through the years.
