ParticipantI apologize for the duplicate post (I posted this elsewhere on this site and realized this topic was the better place for it… couldn’t figure out how to delete my original message either)…

Maybe there’s already something like this on SierraGamers.com, but I’d love to see a forum devoted to Sierra pop culture references (even and especially from the past). Also interesting would be simply items where Sierra games were mentioned or referenced unexpectedly (such as in non-computer game news media). (FYI I recently came across an item from a major political columnist where she mentions her appreciation for King’s Quest and other traditional adventures — kinda cool, I thought).Al Lowe’s terrific site already has something similar for Leisure Suit Larry called Larry Sightings at: http://www.allowe.com/Larry/sightings.htm — one example is when LSL is mentioned in the text of a “Jeopardy” tv show question.
I remember the old “InterAction” publication on at least one occasion had a feature about Sierra game or character references. I even think I remember reading somewhere about a couple who named their children Alexander and Rosella. Would be fun to see these sorts of items compiled in one place.

ParticipantI’m pretty sure InterAction had a “Sierra Sightings” contest every issue or something like that, where you’d send in a sierra sighting and they’d send you a free game if yours was chosen. (I remember the caption/rules reading: “Oh, and by the way, the company was named AFTER the Sierra mountains, not the other way around, sorry.” 🙂

ParticipantYup, you’re right Tom. The Sierra mags had various regular contests over time, and that was one of them.
