ParticipantBrandon, is there a TSA web site and/or a developer’s web site. What have you been up to? I haven’t seen you post much lately.

ParticipantThe TSA website was in progress in various forms, but work eventually stopped when we decided that the way to really do the site properly (in order to include absolutely EVERYTHING Sierra-related) was to build it on a database. We have a programmer who is working on this, though I do not have a status update.
We were also in the process of putting together a simple developer’s web site, although as I have been personally very busy, it hasn’t launched, though it is basically done.
I have been continuing to work with Sierra archival material and expect our pace of progress and updates to quicken up in September.

ParticipantThere was another thread around here in which I gave a more recent update. I can’t remember exactly where it was though, maybe someone else can point it out or you should be able to find it. I try not to navigate around here more than I have to, and just reply to posts.

ParticipantI’m trying to get more information on The Realm, which I believe came out of Alpha in 1996. I know there was an InterAction article about it but I don’t know which issue or anything. Can you please direct me as to where to go to get more information? I know you guys are working on a database-driven page of the magazines, but since many are scanned already, is it possible for people to go to a site now to look at the raw scans or anything? Thank you very much for your help.

ParticipantThe raw scans are HUGE, there’s no way they could be put online. Perhaps Brad, who is heading that project, will see this and drop you a line. If not, I know that I have at least a couple of the magazines that talk about The Realm – I think. If / when I get a chance, I’ll check them out and let you know any relevant info.

ParticipantOkay, thanks a lot, I appreciate it. I’ve scanned some yearbooks to make into PDFs, etc. and I know they’re not exactly small, but I figured that once they’re run through the OCR mill, they shrink a lot so that would help.
Anyhow, thanks, I could really use those articles!

ParticipantWiki software would be perfect for this project, have you considered using it?

ParticipantWe did, though very briefly. Wiki is cool, but ultimately there are so many features we want that just wouldn’t be done justice by using Wiki. I’ll admit that the TSA project is kind of in limbo right now. Such projects take a lot of coordination and volunteer time and real life often gets in the way. It’s always great to see new fan sites pop up, such as Steve’s Sierra-Collector.com, as they provide great content while we’re quietly doing our work. You could set up your own fan site if you wanted, or a Wiki site. I’m sure there must be a Sierra Wiki out there. We just haven’t wanted to put up anything that we could just create quickly, though. TSA deserves to be the ultimate site and we have a lot in plan for it.
