ParticipantTruly awesome game. I remember just being blown away by it as a kid, played it a billion times.

Man I wish Sierra stayed on that track with the Dynamix games and the rest.

ParticipantHow ironic, I was just searching around for ROTD stuff.
I only played it for the first time in April. Awesome game, as you say! Truly brilliant. But then again, you could say the same for all Dynamix games. Loved WB and HOC as well.
I’m currently working on the soundtrack for it. Bought the SEGA CD version off Ebay recently too 🙂
Cool stuff.– Alistair

ParticipantPerhaps of interest: there’s a way to play the SEGA CD version on the PC too. For info, see http://www.game-nostalgia.com/rise/riseofthedragon_info3.html

ParticipantIf you have the CD, is it possible to rip the CD for playing with that emulator? I have that emulator, and have long been looking for Sierra ROMs. Can anyone verify that the ROMs from that site are good? Willy Beamish, Rise of the Dragon, are there any other Sega CD Sierra ROMs?

ParticipantI haven’t figured out how to rip the SEGA CD, though I guess it must be possible to make a ROM file of it. The ROM file for RotD from this site that I linked to was at least OK, I haven’t tried the others yet. Can check these if you want me to do this. Besides the games you mentioned there is one for Silpheed I believe.

ParticipantI actually own the ROTD SEGA CD itself. I also have ROMs for WB and ROTD.
I personally wouldn’t bother with the SEGA version, but for everyone else it’s a good choice. The SEGA version had scenes removed and a higher rating, which dissapointed me greatly, especially as my favourite scene got deleted.
However the voices and one or two extra goodies is a plus, as is the slightly better Adlib music for you folks (though for me the Roland MT-32 disk version music is supreme).
