ParticipantYeah, the moderators on the Sierra boards are looking into it. If Vivendi were to sell them, they certainly wouldn’t do it on Amazon. It’s probably somone selling their personal version. Although it would be nice!

ParticipantI had a King’s Quest Compilation but it was a paper back book not a video game. It was a little more than a 1/4 inch thick. I don’t know if Sierra created the cheat book or if it was an unofficial cheat book.
Looking on ebay maybe it was King’s Quest Companion that I had. -

Why not? Most commercial software is sold through Amazon.
These are listed in the software section with WinXP as the platform and don’t have ISBN numbers (books would), so I kind of doubt these are listings for books.
Excited to find out more about this…

Participanti dont think its really the games. if they were to release these old games again in a time were the average computer runs windows xp or 2000, it would be a support nightmare for them. most people are not like us and wont be willing to have to use emulators and obscure unlicensed patches to run a game that they just bought as “brand new”. can you imagine how many calls, emails, and returns they would get within the first week of release alone?
the only way i see it as possible is if they actually had somebody update or completely rewrite the AGI and SCI engines to run without error on modern windows machines, and also fixed the timer bugs in each individual game. i think that would cost them too much considering these games would not be top sellers. i guess its possible though. if this is the case i will be one of the first to purchase it, but im not too optimistic. lets hope i guess.

ParticipantBecause Vivendi would definitely have the advertisement on their site somewhere, or at least in the older Sierra section. Plus, other gaming sites like GameStop and EBgames would most likely have it advertised too. It just seems a little fishy that we’re hearing it from Amazon first instead of Vivendi *if* they really are re-releasing them.
