      Hi. I am a major fan of the Quest for Glory series and I am having problem runing the game in my computer. I have an Athlon 2.400+ with 512MB ram and I´m having sound problems and crash problems. I am runing my computer in winXP and I have moslow to slow it down. but even in 98% my game still crashes ( in the beginning of the game, just after I  leave the cave, when a try to slide down the pass before the swamp my game crashes). Can anybody help me. Also how do I fix my sound problem. The game dosn´t recognize my audio drivers. what can I do to fix it?

      (re: QG4 bugs) I used VDMSound to play all my old Sierra Games. From QFG1 (text version) up to the modern games. I also got some help from Sierra. Here is what they told me:
      Try Running the program in either win9x or win2000 emulation.
      To do this, locate the actual file executable. (For example, for counter-strike: c:\sierra\counter-strike\cstrike.exe is the executable.) Once located:
      – Right-click on it & select properties
      – Select the COMPATABILITY Tab
      – Put the check in “Run this program in compatibility mode for”
      – From the pull down menu, select windows 98
      – Click APPLY
      – Click OK
      – Try running the program now .
      This really helped me in playing QFG4, QFG5, and Phantasmagoria. Anyway I hope it works out for ya.

      (re: QG4 bugs) To get past the sliding down bug, go to the options menu in the game, put speed all the way up, and detail all the way down. Walk down the edge taking very small steps, by continuously clicking the walk cursor closely in front of your character.

      vdmsound works wonders, but i still got some freezeing problems in qg4

      I have played this game in all but the Magician and it went fine. I am now trying to play it as an Magician. I get to the Castle and to Tanya but she will not go with me and I cannot get anything about the staf to come on. Can anyone give a clue?

      (Clue to Jack D Williams) Do you have Tanya’s doll ? without it you cannot develop a conversation and mention the staff.
