ParticipantDoes anyone have this running? I just … eh … received the game as a gift … and I can’t get it to run. It starts, pops a window up that lets my desktop show as I mouse around, starts the intro, then freezes. The only way to get back to a working desktop is CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill it.
I’ve downloaded patches (official & not), but still nothing. Here’s what I’m running: XP/SP1, Radeon 7200, 256M RAM, AMD 2200+, etc etc. If you’re running it on something similar, please let me know. Thanks!

There is an unofficial Windows 2000 patch (you can get it from qfgs’ site http://www.geocities.com/qfgs ), though it it can be hardware related also. It will run on one of my AMD machines with an ATI card in both Win 98 and XP (dual boot), however it will not run in either OS on another AMD box with a Matrox card.

I’ve installed that patch. Didn’t work. I think I saw something about turning off DirectDraw. I’ll fiddle with that later. Thanks!

I was able to fix this problem by lowering the hardware acceleration in the Audio properties of your PC….

Participant(re: QFG5 on XP?) You have to update qg5 to v1.2. Then go to http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Arcade/7435/Goodies/Downloads.htm
and download the QFG5Win2k.zip file. Unzip the file into ur qg5 folder and run the file. After that u can access the game normally. If ur cursor does not display correctly – ALT-TAB to your desktop, and then maximize ur game again. Thats about all the issues related with Win2K/XP and QG5. Enjoy the game
