I just recently got QfG4 and I’m having trouble with it allready. Is there a way to slow down the dialogue boxes, ‘cuz they vanish before it’s humanly possible to read them. It’s especially troubling when trying to talk to the people in the game and not beeing able to get all the info you need.
Would a slow-down program fix this or is there another way of slowing down the dialogue boxes? The game speed is otherwise fine.

(re: QfG4 – Dialogue boxes) I had a similar problem with the KQ6 speach version. For some reason, the game cannot access your CD-Rom drive, on which the speach audio files are. Because of this, the game will simply skip all the text dialogue.
I don’t really know a solution for this, except making sure the CD-Rom is in your CD-Drive. 🙂

(re: QfG4 – Dialogue boxes) That’ll be a problem ‘cuz I don’t have the cd, the game’s on my hard-drive. I’ll figure out something. It’s just a darn shame, that in the middle of a sentence the text box disappears. Oh well, it’s only a game.
Big up to the webmaster. Great site.

(re: QfG4 – Dialogue boxes) Hello! It’s me your least favorite and unknown Admin. 🙂
Well, here’s a few solutions. I’m fairly sure you can turn off the ‘voice’ option in your game’s option menu. I think that may stop it from trying to access your CD-ROM. If that doesn’t work, then tell me, and I’ll figure something else out.
You don’t have a CD? It is possible to get the game new for dirt cheap on the web …

If you pirated your version then you’re probably running the CD version without the speech files. Hence you should get the Disk version and it will run fine (there are heaps of places to ‘look’ for it on the net) or buy the CD version which is absolutely brilliant. I picked it up for $14.95 brand new from CDAccess.com as part of the Sierra Gamer pack and got GK1, KQ5, LSL1, Red Baron, A10 Tank Killer and Caesar with it.

It has John Rhys Davies as the narattor and he’s all good!
