PQ3 – Problems With Marie

I’ve just finished playing though Police Quest 3, and I keep getting a message saying that Marie never recovered and remains a vegetable. This is despite doing everything I am supposed to do to help her recover, and seeing her eyes open at one point in the game.

Am I missing something? Have I hit a bug? Is this something unique to the GOG.com version of the Police Quest Collection?
