I am curious about certain aspects of the development of the fourth Police Quest game, “Open Season”, and hope that you may shed some light on them.
Once former LAPD Chief Daryl Gates was selected to design the game, were any measures taken to assist him in designing the game, given that he had likely never attempted such a thing before? Ie. was he shown other design documents, did someone actively assist him in the design process?
Furthermore, once what role did Chief Gates play in the actual production of the game (eg. ensuring realism)?
Thank you very much for all the enjoyment Sierra’s games have provided. Even for someone as young as I (21 years old), I feel that they will never be matched or bettered.
