I decided to go purchase the new police quest compilation and relive my youthful days playing these great games. Police Quest 4 turned out to be one of my all time favorite in the series but seemed like it left a lot to be answered.
First off, is there any real indication who the serial killer really is? I mean, the fact that he’s neutralized at the Third-Eye Theater sorta gives me the indication that Mitchell Thurman is the actual psycho. But the game doesn’t really give a whole lot of confirmation on that. I’m also having a hard time seeing the connection between all those murders and how you just suddenly wind up finding the serial killer at the theater thanks to a newspaper ad you find.

Don’t they find his lipstick and stuff at the other crime scenes. I can’t remember clearly. I think it’s just supposed to be entertaining and shouldn’t be analyzed too closely. It would’ve been cool if they had some Laura Bow-esque point system where you actually had to put the clues together and solve the case at the end. Maybe have a courtroom trial/verdict for the end sequence where your actions affect whether it’s a guilty/not guilty verdict and what sentence he gets.
