ParticipantDoes anyone know of a location where I could find all of the old Sierra Patches to later games such as PQ4 and QG1VGA. I just reinstalled a bunch of old games the other day after hitting Al Lowe’s site and realized they were a lot better than most of the gunk out today. I’d like to play the games, but I keep getting these random locks, freezes, and problems.
I already run stuff with DosBox/VDMS (or whatever the sound one is), and the problem now is just with bugs/snags in the games themself. -

Participant(re: Patch Archives) Large resource of patches:
Link: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/(http://www.patches-scrolls.de/)
Sierra specific patches (unofficial):
Link: http://geocities.com/belzorash/(http://geocities.com/belzorash/)
The latter site contains SCI script fixes specifically to get around the timer issues a lot of Sierra games have when running on modern systems.

Sierra has most (all?) of their old patches still available for download at their ftp site.
Unfortunately, you have to know the name of what you’re looking for (the naming conventions are pretty easy to decipher though) and the site doesn’t say what the patches do. But it’s a good resource if you know ahead of time what patch you’re looking for.
