ParticipantI am independent author and HUGE fan of Sierra’s early adventure games. I was weaned on them as a child and spent far too much time playing them, buying them, thinking about them..
About four years ago I decided I wanted to write a novel about the computer gaming industry, particularly the fall of the Adventure Game in the context of the rise of the First Person Action Shooter, female gaming and professional gaming. What I ended up with was a comedy/drama about the world’s most infamous computer gaming company (Madre, pioneer of the adventure game) as it struggles to stay afloat in an exploding market and resist a hostile takeover bid by a corporate raider. It’s set in 1995, just as the Internet is coming to prominence.
It’s been a lot of work, but the book was released last week. I think it will be of real interest to Sierra fans. If you want to check it out, please visit http://www.gamequestnovel.com. Thanks!

ParticipantHere is a very nice review of Game Quest from someone in Vancouver who bought my novel. Just in case you want an opinion on it other than my own which is, admittedly, biased.

ParticipantI guess I should chip in here with a word of endorsement for Leopold’s book. It really is quite a fun read, and I recommend it to all Sierra fans! As I posted on the Game Quest site, this book really is just as addictive as Sierra’s classic adventures!
