Not sure if there is already a thread going on this – at least, I couldn’t find one. 🙂
I don’t like that when you look at new messages now, you can’t see who posted the message. If I’m looking for responses to something I posted, I can’t tell (unless I click a topic) whether it’s my original post or a response to my post.
I don’t receive the email updates for this site, so looking at the new messages list is really the only way I know what’s being discussed… I like the idea of separating the messages by category in theory, but it makes it harder for me to see where the new messages are because I have to glance at a bunch of lists instead of just one…

I agree. I’m chasing bugs now, but will work on these this week.
