When I was much younger, I had a Texas Instruments computer for quite a while. Hunt the Whoompas (if that’s how you spell it, or–after all these years–if that’s even the title, I don’t know) was the biggest game I had on it. But slowly my family began to realize that we couldn’t do everything that we needed to do on it, and I couldn’t exactly use it to get my school work done on it.

We slowly became acquainted with a family down our street that owned several computers, all from the same maker–Atari … namely, the Atari 520 ST. I still remember that computer fondly. My father and I, the main users of computers in our house tried it out over at the home of our neighbors, and loved the computer. We knew we could use it to write. We were all but sold on the device. The clencher was how the graphics were handled, they played King’s Quest II all the time, and that game sold us. I actually was able to play KQII before KQI was available for the computer.

Needless to say, besides school work, I spent many great times on the computer playing games by the Sierra that you two created and ran. I slowly discovered the other series(es?): Space Quest, Police Quest, and Leisure Suit Larry (heheheh). All of those memories I wouldn’t give up for anything. They brought us closer to our neighbors; even now my fiancee and her family love them as well, so it’s given us all something in common to say the very least.

Ken and Roberta, Thank you for everything. This fan truly appreciates all of the wonderful stories you told through your products.

      Take care and be well,
      Ron.

It was ‘Hunt the Wumpus.’  I loved that game too.  🙂
