Ken, I think you and Roberta should write a ‘new’ AGI game. KQ1,2,3 were the best. My best memories are with those three games (maybe a little Freddy Pharkas and KQ6) but mostly those first three King’s Quest games. You and Roberta should write a game just bring back some of the nostalgia of those mid 80’s games. I’d pay $40 for KQ 9 in AGI format. That would be awesome. Those games were the best. Who cares about the technology advancements…the entertainment value of those games are unsurpassed.
One more thing, I was talking with Al Lowe a few years ago and he told me that Roberta really doesn’t get involved with her fans very often (i.e. autographed game boxes, etc). Al signed my original LSL 1 and Freddy Pharkas boxes. I was just wondering if Roberta would be up to signing my KQ 1 box? Thanks Ken.
The old Sierra was the best. It’ll never be matched. I’m just glad a was able to be a part of it.

(Re: Make KQ9 in AGI? Also about autographs) Roberta is happy to sign boxes .. but, the hard part is getting a box to us. We’re currentlly in Mexico, and won’t be back to Seattle until mid April.
If you want a box signed, the best would be to send it to our address in Seattle, and let it sit until the middle of April — which means, wait until the beginning of April to send it.
I’d have you send it here to Mexico, but there really isn’t a reliable, or fast, way to get us anything.

      Hi Troy.
I share the feeling about old AGI, also SQ I and II are great, and LSL !!! I have all the AGI games in my collection but KQIV AGI version (but don’t care too much since it is not a real AGI I would say).
I think they were great because being the first ones deadlines were more loose and less time devoted to tech was more devoted to plot.
Even being a great fan of AGI (thus sharing your feeling) though, I must vote in favour of Ken and Roberta decision of moving always forward in tech. It prooved the only way to keep Sierra alive and kicking in an environment were others failed remaining at the starting pole (great companies, but remaining there becoming mere niche and not being able to compete, earn money and therefore produce new games).
I also think advancements for Sierra were harder hitting on KQ, since KQ was always the first using the new technologies….
      Ciao,
      Giovanni

I think it’s a cool idea – Ken and Roberta always used to work with a very small staff back then, right? I’d LOVE to see a new AGI game. Most Sierra fans don’t care about modern technology when it comes to adventure games.

Ken, could you send me your Seattle address? I’d like to send my King’s Quest collector’s box to get it signed. That would be awesome. Thanks.
