ParticipantYeah… after all those years I had the four 3,5″ diskettes stored somewhere in the depts of my closet, and after never ever finishing the game, I decided to install it on my machine, got it working and even finished it.
Great! Love the story, those pixel folks are fun *g*, only annoying thing was Rosella getting killed so often falling down some creepy stairs 😉
Anyway. In the end I got some “personal secret code”.
What does this serve me for? Do I send it to someone and win a prize???

I asked the same question a while ago and it was answered on this very forum.
Check out the link below.

Participant(re: KQ IV ending) Hey, thanks!!! ;-))
See, I wasn’t all that wrong with my assumption about the code being some part of a prize
BTW, you get a different code at the end of each new game you started…
😉

Participant(re: KQ IV ending) Somehow, the link has disappeared. Here’s a copy of the original post:
That secret code was part of a sweepstakes. A trip to the UK, if I remember correctly. When you won the game, you could write the code down on an entry card and send it in to Sierra to be entered in a drawing. Whether or not anyone won, I don’t know. As far as I know, this was only part of the first SCI version. The one I have on my KQ Collection doesn’t have a code, while my original disk version does. Anyone know if there are more than two SCI versions out there? Even between the two I have, there’s a slight graphics difference (not in quality, just detail).

The trip to England was won by Peter Strumolo of New York. I found this in the Sierra magazine volume 2,no.2 Autumm 1989. There is a copy of KQ4 on e-bay it is the 256k version that some have been trying to locate, look under the heading tandy. I played the amiga version of kq4 on an emulator and the music and sound effects are great and I was able to purchase the real game last night, can’t wait to get it.
