I have searched high and low for information about the voice actors of King’s Quest 6. The thing is, this being the first Sierra game with high-profile voice actors I find it quite remarkable that there isn’t a more detailed credits list in the game. I only know what actor played four of the characters:
Robby Benson, who played Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, as Alexander.
Tony Jay, the voice of Frollo, the main villain in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, as Captain Saladin.
Bill Rattner as the narrator.
Josh Mandel, reprising his role as King Graham. Uncredited in the game.
Does anyone have a complete credits list, or knowledge of the parts played by someone else? There are some very big voice actors there, like the late Don Messick, original voice of Scooby Doo!
I don’t think more information can be collected from the actual game. Maybe in the manual for the original release (which I don’t own myself) or the hint book…

I have a couple beat-up copies of the original disk release, so obviously the voices aren’t listed there. And I can tell you they aren’t listed in the hintbook either. I’m sure they must be listed in the documentation of the original CD release, as long as someone out there has it? Interaction may be another possibility, though I don’t remember anything off-hand from the issues I have.

Hmm, where to go next? There has to exist records of this somehwere, deep down in Sierra’s archives? I’d hate to ask you to spend time looking for this for me Ken, but in case you know where to find it directly or have some suggestions where to look, I’d be glad to know… Neither KQ5, 7, MoE or any other Sierra game with voices that I’ve checked had this sloppy voice credits.

After a bit of sleuthing, I found out that the voice of the pawnshop owner was David Fennoy. Turns out that Fennoy voiced King Andre in Monkey Island 3, and someone on the LucasArts boards casually commented something like “oh yeah, I remember the guy who played King Andre from the pawnshop owner’s voice in KQ6!”
Which makes me wonder: how the heck do those LucasArts fans know more about Sierra games than the Sierrans themselves!? It’s just not FAIR…

Thanks for the help guys! Together we might eventually be able to scrape together bits and pieces to form a decent credits list. 🙂
I recently collected voice samples for every character in the game for reference to the voice actor auditions for the KQ9 fangame that’s soon to be held. You can tell from the voices that many actors played several characters. The full cast list is probably not very long.
Josh Mandel recently mentioned in an interview at Ugarte’s Dimension of Fantasy that he played the genie (Shamir Shamazel) in KQ6, which was a surprise to me. I’m sure I recognise his voice as one of the druids and Oxymoron as well. Josh, since you check in here from time to time, if you’re reading this, do you remember any more voices you did for KQ6 and who did some of the other parts? Who played Cassima for instance?
