ParticipantTo Ken or Roberta Williams i liked the King’s Quest games 1-7
But the only problem i didn’t like in the KQ 3 was on the pirate after
getting possessions back, listening to the mice and getting the shovel.
You have to just wait about 20 to 30 minutes before the pirates say land hold. Why not after doing all those things then suddenly say land hold.
And King’s Quest 8 i never played because i heard it was gory and i can’t stand the sight of blood.
Just wondering if it’s possible for a patch to be made to edit or black out gory details. Thanks

ParticipantThe problems you describe with KQ3 sound like a timer issue. Because
the game is running on a much, much faster processor than for which it
was designed, timed events can take much longer to occur than usual.
For example, there’s a section where you have to work out on various
machines in a gym. You’re only meant to do 10-20 repititions on each
machine. On a modern processor, it can require hundreds.Use an application like Turbo, MoSlo or DOSBox to fix this.

ParticipantI think that example was from LSL3?

ParticipantIt is (from LSL3).. the KQ3 thing is NOT a timer bug, it’s just because your in-game ‘speed’ settings are too low.

ParticipantI stand corrected on both counts.

ParticipantMask of Eternity isn’t gory at all. There is some blood but its never gratuitous.

ParticipantYeah, sounds like it might be a timing issue, I think the trip is only supposed to last 10 or 15 minutes. I can’t remember. I know it feels long, which I like because it lends to that epic feeling.
