ParticipantEveryone:
As many of you have heard, Roberta and I are currently taking our boat across the Atlantic.
As I write this, we are in Floriida preparing for departure. I have a seperate website set up: http://sanssouci.talkspot.com where I am writing about our voyage. If you are interested, visit that site to track our progress.
I’m not sure what my internet connection will be like for the crossing. My guess is that there will be times in port when I have good access, and times at sea when I have none. I’d like to offer my apologies in advance if there are times when I am out of touch, or if at some point this site crashes for a few days and I’m not around to fix it.

PS If you search around on the site, you will find contact information for the boat. This was put there so that we can be reached in an emergency. PLEASE do not call the boat, or send faxes — crossing an ocean on a small boat is a serious undertaking. It would not be good to have the phone ringing while we are underway.

Ken: Good luck, and I hope your voyage is a safe one!
All Sierra fanatics and trolls: If you have any plans on abusing the emergency contact information on that site (like calling Ken to say how much you loved Leisure Suit Larry or to pitch a game idea), consider the fact that you may be putting Ken and Roberta’s lives at risk (a very slight risk, but one nonetheless), along with everyone else on the boat. Considering how beloved this couple is among their friends, family and fans, including many people with considerable technical and IT prowess, you may not remain anonymous for very long if you decide to act like a jackass.
That said, Ken: Unfortunately, there is also the slight risk that you may get telemarketer calls if any web spiders picked up those numbers. Next time, it would be best to post them in graphic format instead of plain text.

Good luck, enjoy the adventure! Seeing the crew pictures reminds me of the Love Boat 🙂

Participant(I have internet!!!!) Greetings everyone!!!!!
I’m finally installed in a hotel in Bermuda, and have a decent internet connection. For those who’ve been tracking our progress, Roberta and I are crossing the Atlantic on our boat. It has consumed about 110% of my time for the last month and we’re not expected to return home to Seattle until late July. As I mentioned earlier, if you are at all into boating, you should consider checking out my daily blog — at
Link: http://sanssouci.talkspot.com(http://sanssouci.talkspot.com) My apologies for neglecting this site. Roberta and I love boating, and couldn’t pass up the chance to cross the Atlantic. The good news is that all has been uneventful thus far, and will hopefully stay that way.
I wil have an internet connection for the next four days, and then we’re back on the ocean.

Hey, Ken 🙂
Nice to have you back, if only for a brief period of time. While you’re here, maybe you can answer a question regarding your old games for me.
I’ve always wondered why you (Sierra) made the games in a way where it’s possible to encounter dead ends making the game impossible to finish. Was it a deliberate design choice, or was it because of other reasons? -

Ken! I hope I haven’t missed you! I’ve been following your progress with the daily emails, and it sounds like you guys are being safe and having fun! I’m bitterly jealous and overjoyed for you at the same time!
One thing – what the hell are you doing back on your nostalgia site?!?! You’re in Bermuda, about to cross the Atlantic! Now is the time for celebration of many different kinds! Now isn’t the time to be answering our dumb geeky questions! Grab a cocktail (or an iced latte, if that’s your thing) and hit the beach! Party!!!
(I get a kick out of virtually yelling at Ken. Since he managed a company for so many years, I’m sure very few people have had the opportunity to yell at him.)

Participant(re: re: I have internet!!!!) You’ll be happy to know that I’m not roughing it too badly here in Bermuda. I spent the morning golfing, and this afternoon we spent walking a few miles down the beach.
We don’t leave for the next leg of the voyage until next Tuesday, and the crew is doing all the work on the boat — so, I’m just killing time.
Life is good….
