I put together a 486 DX2/66 with 16 MB of RAM, an ASUS motherboard, a Diamond VLB video card, a Sound Blaster 16 and whatnot and Inca always crashes with CD-ROM reading errors either in the introduction or in the beginning of the actual game. I’ve tried using different CD-ROM drives and I even bought a second copy of the game. I’ve also tried connecting the CD-ROM drive to both the motherboard’s I/O controller and the IDE controller on the Sound Blaster 16. The game always crashes to DOS. I did manage to make it work just fine a couple years ago on my girlfriend’s Celeron computer, using a DOS boot disk.
Has anyone else seen this sort of problem?
