I was just looking at the image in this thread: {link}33514

I noticed the image was smaller than the original scan I did and a little hard to read. I uploaded the image a second time (after deleting the original from the thread) and made sure to uncheck the box that said to resize the image to fit the screen. But the uploaded image is still smaller than the original that I have saved to my computer. Is it supposed to work this way?

The original image is 776 pixels x 577 pixels. I uploaded it to my webspace so you can see how it’s supposed to look.

Ken did this as a “feature.” It’d be up to him to change it – which I would personally vote for. I don’t know if he’s changed anything about how images / attachments are handled in the new beta as I haven’t had the chance yet to look at it, but that’s an area where improvements could be made.

I remember he added the checkbox when I complained the first time about images resizing. 🙂 That was supposed to allow you to specify whether or not the image resized after you uploaded it.

The issue this time is that even when you specify not to resize the image, they are still being resized…

This is the first I’ve heard that there might be a bug in that code. Sorry about that. At this point, my plan would be to address it in the new bulletin boards, which hopefully go live within a week or two.

      Check them out!

I am very happy to say, noticing how you’re now handling file attachments Ken, that I like the system and images will now be attached exactly as you originally have them. Well, don’t anyone abuse this by uploading huge files, but it’s nice to know how it’s working now. For showing scanned images, I’ve found somewhere around 800 pixels with JPG quality of around 8 usually gives a nice balance between file size and good quality for web viewing.
