ParticipantI’m looking for high quality box scans (front and back) of Sierra games among others. I know Mobygames and a couple other sites I’ve found have decent scans but I hate seeing the site name on every single box. To me, that’s like defacing it. I’ve searched this site and its forums a bit but couldn’t find anything. I pretty much want scans of every Sierra box from King’s Quest to Quest for Glory V. If anyone can direct me to where I can find such scans, I’d appreciate it.
Also, I was curious if the InterAction scanning project would include the catalogs that came in Sierra boxes, especially the slip cover boxes in the late 80s and early 90s. Those were like the InterAction magazines of the day before there was any InterAction magazine and I’d like to see them preserved.

…”Currently the Interaction Magazine Scanning project does not include the catalogs. Some have them have been scanned already though on a separate project, and will be released at future date. There are many preparations being made to preserve all aspects of the “old” Sierra, stay tuned!

ParticipantI don’t know of sites with high quality scans. There are a few other sites out there with box images, but probably not as large as you want, or they too have put their site name on the scan. What are you looking for scans for?
And as Brad said, stay tuned! Stuff definitely is in preparation!

ParticipantI want scans just for my own appreciation. It’s a nostalgia thing. I want to make my own digital gallery. I was pretty young when I first started playing Sierra games and I didn’t take care of the boxes or just about anything else for that matter. Scans are an excellent way of always preserving those memories since the old Sierra box art is some of the best ever.

ParticipantCool. I know Ken posted a zip file with a bunch of box art at one point – I don’t remember where it was, but the scans weren’t very large. Look forward to seeing box art scans as well as lots of other scans through SierraGamers in the future. In the meantime, you can check out SpaceQuest.net for scans of Space Quest box art.

ParticipantYeah someone told me that Ken posted some good covers, that’s why I came here to look but I couldn’t find anything through searching. I already got those Space Quest scans. Those were excellent scans and they represent basically the quality I’m aiming for. They’re what inspired me to search for more box scans.

ParticipantI’ve got A LOT of very good condition boxes, some of them are unopened and most are in very good condition. I’ll start scanning them and posting them as time permits.

ParticipantCool Troy! I collect sealed boxes as well.
You may want to refrain from scanning them for now. Once we start launching our archival projects publically, there’ll be stuff for people to contribute to, such as scanning boxes. We wouldn’t want you to scan a whole bunch of stuff, only to have us close the museum area here when we open up new areas and say that your scans are not at the right specs for us to use.
I know it’s asking a lot of everyone but please have a bit more patience with us while we get stuff organized!
