I just bought a new computer and want to reinstall Generations 5.2 from Sierra On-Line. When it was originally installed there was a problem with the program interfering with Internet Explorer which would crash the computer and prevent it from booting up. At that time there was a download from Sierra that was utilized during the installation. I am now using OS XP Home. Is there any way that I can install Generations? I would hate to lose all the information in the program.

Have you tried installing it yet? Are you getting any error messages? There are a couple of patches on Sierra’s FTP site, ftp://ftp.sierra.com/pub/patches/pc/ (look for gen5211.exe and gen52to6010.exe), but outside of that, you can try the usual things with Compatability mode.
