      (Thanks again and again! :))

Here in Russia it’s really tough to find GK the game, not speaking of the soundtrack 🙂

I do like this release. But if you ask me the “.wav” versions of GK1 main title and credits themes sounds somehow “stronger” than in-game midi. I’m speaking of files named “5.wav” (GK1 main title music) and “5400.wav” (GK1 credits music). You can find them in the “SFX” folder on GK1 CD-ROM. These are 22khz – mono, so I’d like to hear them with better quality and was hoping to find them on “enchanted CD”.

P.S. Sorry for my English 🙂

(re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks) Hi I live in the UK and tried for years to get a copy of the GK music. Would you consider making a copy on CD of this for me. I will pay whatever the costs would be for postage. I would really appreciate your help in this Matter.

      All the very best

(re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks) Collector (or anyone else),
Would you scan hi-res the CD and the liner notes / front / back covers?

      Matt,
Does anyone else live in the UK who could burn the MP3s for him? It’s obviously easiest if someone living in the same country helps him out.

      Chage,
I don’t know anything about those .wav files, but I’ll see what I can figure out. Maybe someone else has an insight on those.

(re: re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks) I’ve aleady sorted a CD for Matt, he’s happy!

I own the CD so I could do scan of it if you like. The version I have (from Mysteries shipped in oversize box released in Europe) there are no CD inlays, covers, etc. What DPI would you like?

(re: re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks)

Brandon, there were no liner notes, as such. The disc is a hybrid disc that had data and audio tracks and was included in the same box that the game disc came in. I could scan the disc and the disc box, if you would like. 600 dpi?

What serves as liner notes is on the data track with the game manuals and the GK1 graphic manual. The entire data track is a little over 14 MB zipped. I would be willing to upload it some where for you, but I am on dialup and I have been timed out uploading things of any size to this site. If you have an FTP that I upload it, or you have another idea, let me know.

Here is what is in a TXT file in the base directory:

      Gabriel Knight Mysteries LTD. Edition
      Soundtrack Enhanced CD with Docs

      Sierra On-Line

      Notice:

CD Track 1 is a data track and may be playable on some CD players.
Please skip this track to get to the music.

I too am trying to download them to my computer to burn a copy. I bought the Mysteries set in 98 but when my parents moved and I went to get all my games back I could find all of the discs from the set except for this one disc. 🙁

When I right click to save it will only save a “view” html page. Anything else i can try?

(re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks) Thanks for uploading the data track Adam. If either you or Collector could scan the box and CD itself, yeah, that’d be cool. Don’t worry about it right now at the moment though. I’m going to setup a new design for the museum areas very soon now, and once that happens, we can get some sort of procedure with upload space for new museum additions.

As far as I can tell, for those of you who asked, the way Ken has it setup right now you cannot right-click to save. You would need to disassociate MP3s from automatic playback on your system in order to download them with a left-click. As I say though, I’m working on a new design, so if Ken doesn’t change this now, then hopefully when I get that coordinated things like this would be solved.

(re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks) Yes! please update us when you have your new design completed. I’d love to have them in mp3 or wav format. Recording from sound recorder just isn’t cutting it!

Here is the cover art for the collection and the extra CD. I resampled them down to 200 dpi. Brandon, if you want higher res versions just let me know what resolution you want.

Is there any way we could download the GK songs to our computer besides just listening to them from this website? They can only be saved as htm files.

(re: Gabriel Knight Mysteries Soundtracks) Thanks Collector, sweet. Keep a hold of your original scans and we’ll eventually (hopefully sometime soon) set up a painless way to transfer them from those who submit them to a museum submission area.

Vincent, good work on editing those links.

Will do. I usually archive (on CD or DVD) all the Sierra stuff I generate anyway.

      Hello Collector,

thanks a lot for posting the soundtrack – it’s great and there is no way to get it where I live (middle Europe).

In the track “Happy Minstrels”, in the middle part, I am getting some loud clicking noices probably from some errors during mp3 ripping process. Please, do you think that you could re-rip and re-post this track, or send the correct version to me via e-mail?

      Anyway, thanks again.

Collector, thanks a whole lot for these songs. I’m crazy about the prolog tune, but could find only snatches of it on my resource.sfx file. Also I couldn’t find any programs for splitting sfx files into individual music files, only individual speech files. Odd. So, I was planning to buy the limited edition package, which is pretty pricey now, just for the music you’ve given us. Thanks again.

If all you see upon right-clicking is “View HTML” or “Save this page” etc., you are NOT clicking on the link texts.

Move your mouse pointer (called “cursor”) on the underlined text (such as “16. Ludwig”) – you will see the link destination URL “http://www.sierragamers.com/uploads/49/8279.mp3″  in the status bar on the bottom of the browser screen.

The text should also slightly highlight.

Right click; you should receive quite a large context menu (10 or more items in it). One of them should be “Save target as”. Use it to save the “object” the link points to to your hard drive.
