      Dear Ken,
after some years with all apparently “forgetting” about old good adventures, recently I started to smell a change: after years I bought a new adventure intrigued by it.
Very honestly, I liked it a lot, again, after so many years. Good atmosphere and perfect technical, can it be that adventures are returning ?
I am referring to Syberia, Microids / Benoit Sokal, just in case, should you ever see it or play it, let me know: I am sure Roberta would love it.

I can also recommend an adventure published a few years back by Funcom, calle “The Longest Journey”. The puzzles are a tad easy, but a lot of fun, with a great storyline, excellent graphics and decent voice acting.

They’re even working on a sequel.

(re: Future of Adventures ?) I just played the demo of Syberia 2, looking to pick up the original now. There definitely seems to have been a bit of a resurgence in adventure games lately.
Out of Order is a terrific freeware adventure. Runaway looks great (need to pick it up). You’ve got the Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, and Law & Order games. I really think people are starting to realize that walking around shooting things gets old after a while.

Hell yes! Looks different, but it’s our favorite genre evolved. That’s why I encourage people who like adventures to give these Mario 64-type games a shot, like Zelda Wind Waker and Final Fantsy X-2. These are adventures with many Sierra elements. If I recall, Sierra is the first company I remember with groovy intros and cut-scenes in a game.
