ParticipantYeah, these games are more on the rare side I would say. You have to make sure they’re really originally sealed though, and not re-sealed. Both of these games should be sealed with wrap that looks like a present on top. You can see pictures of this type of wrap on the Vintage Sierra website:

ParticipantYes,both games are sealed like a present.Thanx for your response, you answered a question that I forgot to add,its important to know how to recognize boxed games that have the factory or “bogus”seal, which sellers sell off,as factory sealed, and rip off the uninformed.

ParticipantNot all the Sierra boxes are wrapped that way (as it is said at Vintage Sierra). They weren’t in the first years (see this feature http://www.game-nostalgia.com/sierra/sierra_collector_riddles_1.html)
and also the bigger white boxes with sleeves of a later date didn’t have always folded shrink wrap. Some of the boxes come in both ways; I have checked this a few times and they include the same original Sierra contents. Decisive for the early boxes is the tanned/beige inner box and the system requirement stickers. For the bigger white boxes only the stickers may help to identify their origin.

ParticipantOoh, I hadn’t seen that other article. Thanks for posting it! Yeah, looking at the label stickers is also another great way to tell a real game from a Slash game. Unfortunately, of course – as mentioned in that article – beyond the simple things to spot, there were many packaging / sealing variations so it can become hard to know.
