I found a link to this site and I’m pretty sure these are the people that created the Manhunter series … if so it says that Barry Murry passed away not too long ago.

(re: Creators of Manhunter?) Thank you!
The Murrays were indeed the creators of Manhunter – and of Ancient Art of War for Broderbund. Very creative guys. I haven’t spoken with them for over 20 years, and am sorry to hear of Barrys passing.

Very sorry to hear of his demise.

I never did play Manhunter, but I loved Championship Boxing (published by Sierra, BTW) and the Ancient Art of War series.

Yes, Barry Murray did indeed pass away a few years ago. Dave & Dee Dee now have a web design company, together with Barry’s two sons (Mike and … I forgot the name). I sent an email to Mike a few weeks ago, after re-playing both MANHUNTER games and finding myself amazed at how cool they still are. He said he’s flattered that people still enjoy the game, and they’ve often thought about creating a third part and/or remaking the first two. Just imagine, with today’s technology, a third MANHUNTER would be a *disturbing* ride.

(re: re: re: re: Creators of Manhunter?) Manhunter is great! Very creepy and even funny at times. Sad to hear that Barry passed away…

Hope they do make a third game, it would be really great with today’s computers….especially if they stick with the old format and just add graphics! Wouldn’t it be very similar to shivers with a manhunter twist?

(re: re: re: re: Creators of Manhunter?) very sad news to hear of barrys passing :(, and the manhunter games really were very twisted and dark. was always hoping for a 3rd after finding the poster on the side of the tram in the 2nd one, which maybe hinted of a 3rd (london or paris) its been a while since ive played through them both (at least 10 years) might just have to dig them out again 🙂
always thought it would make a cool movie too..

(re: re: re: re: re: Why was there never a third game?)

“Here’s something really strange: I double checked that it was the Murrays that produced Manhunter (which it was) but what is a little bizarre is that all the articles I found through Google refer to the Murrays as a trio – Barry, Dave and Dee Dee. Obviously, I knew Dee Dee – but, the honest truth is that I can’t remember her. Darned if I know why. I remember the guys, but can’t remember her at all. Weird.”

I don’t think she was involved in all of the games. I don’t know about Manhunter, but Championship Boxing and all the Ancient Art of War games do not list her in the credits. Probably worked on some of their later games.

I know that on the back of the Manhunter boxes, all three of them are shown with cloaks on. All of their names are also listed in the caption of the picture.
