Hows it going sierra gamers. I recently got a hold of phantasmagoria 2 and am confused in how to get this game to run. I’m running the game on a windows xp home laptop which has way more power to run this game than required. After installing the game, I click on the shortcut and all I get is a window which is grey and has a button with no words written on it. When I click on the button, the window exits. I tried running the game under windows 95 compatibility and the results are the same. Is there anyway to get this game to run on a new computer?

I’m not sure if this game will run on XP. I tried installing it on XP about a week ago and had a similar problem (except I had an error message that popped up before the window closed).
In a lot of cases, it’s not the power of the machine that’s important, so much as the way the program uses the operating system. Some older games run in XP just fine; others don’t work at all.
If anyone has gotten Phantasmagoria 2 running in XP, I’d love to hear how…

(re: re: Cant get Phantasmagoria 2 to work at all?) Sierra Online Tech Support has been very helpful in getting alot of my old games to work on my comp with XP. What I recommend is you fill out one of those online forms and ask for their help. They responded to my questions within a day and it was a snap.
Too bad they didnt have this feature in the old day… I still cringe at the memories of waiting on hold for hours (long distance, no less) to talk to a Sierra Tech Support Specialist. 🙂

Thanks everybody for responding to my phantasmagoria 2 problem. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt the only one who couldnt get the game to work on XP. I have gotten the first phantasmagoria to run under xp tweaken it with run under windows 98 mode. I’m just suprised that the sequel cant run under XP being that its newer than the first game. Whoever finds a way to run the game on XP please respond with a tutorial of how to do it.
