(re: The Realm) Great question!!!
I had completely forgotten The Realm. Strange – it was one of the greatest things we ever did.
The Realm was designed by David Slaybeck, who was also the lead programmer on the project. My recollection is that half way through development Dave had some sort of medical problem (a brain tumor?) and had to leave the project for a while – and that this caused a lot of confusion and delays with the project.
TSN (later renamed to the Imagination Network) was sold first to AT&T, and then to AOL. I think that after the sale, AT&T made the decision to reprogram The Realm, and that the rewrite never shipped.
