You’re absolutely right, I phrased that terribly.
I guess I maybe misread what the guy was saying, but it did seem to me he was at least slightly making criticisms of such things.
I don’t think the topic’s futile, but it subtly felt like some kind of conservative dichotomy, to me anyway. Basically, not saying things like ‘being gay is bad’ but saying more measured things instead like ‘this is shocking’ and so forth. I think a lot of people do that online, though.
But yeah, I was way off overall. My bad.
