You have a graphics card that does not support the fonts used by the AGI games (KQ 1-3.) Your best option is to use NAGI to run the game. With NAGI you will not only solve this problem, but, you will get three voices of music from your sound card (instead of the PC speaker) AND limited mouse support in the games.
