(re: QFG5 running under XP?)
It’s not very easy to make it work, but it actually can be played under Windows XP. First, install the game 😉 Then install the Windows 2000 patch which is available somewhere in the Internet. Finally, you have to set compatibility mode with Windows 98 under the Properties tab for the game’s executable. You could also set compatibility mode changing the properties of the shortcut of the game.
Then run the game. You’ll probably see the main screen of the game flickering a lot. Click anywhere and you’ll be returned to the desktop, however the game will be still running. Click on the game or use ALT+Tab to go back to the game. Voilá!
I think that’s the best game in the series, it’s even better than QfG4 and believe me I enjoyed that game. I also believe it is the best combination between arcade, RPG and graphic adventure.
