Emily, the good news is that most of the bugs have now been fixed. NewRisingSun has developed script level patches for QfG4 CD and several other Sierra games. These are patches that are what Sierra would have released, if they had bothered to patch these games themselves. So far he has fixed:

These patches really work. I have successfully played QfG 4 on my Athlon 2000+ machine to completion. Without the patch, I could not even get down the slippery slope, even with Turbo. You can these patches at http://geocities.com/belzorash/
